Happy New Year 2011

Less than an hour to 2011 and I’m sitting or rather singing along with my girlfriends some old songs (in my living room) that remind me of the time when I was still in high school. Some memories did come back where we just shared, in the middle of the lyrics. Outside is noisy with all the fireworks and the champagne is having a nice time with the other drinks in the cold out side. ;)

2010 has been a GREAT year. I wouldn’t want to change otherwise. But would wish for a better 2011, a prosperous, healthy, joyous, happy, lots of love, success and hopefully with a bit of luck in wealth.

Happy New Year 2011 everyone!

Happy 9 March 2010

Hey my visitor,

It’s March! I know. And I’ve been late again. Not that I didn’t want to come and update the blog but I lost my password. Apparently I changed it sometime during the winter time when I was (and still am) half awake. (Yep! Blame the weather!)

So, I must have put my mind somewhere when I can’t find the simple yet difficult to remember text or was it number? I guess I’ve been changing it several times now. Yes, Just to change and then forget about the initial plan of logging in to blog. So, the next time would be WRONG AGAIN! And again, of course.

Anyway, here I come to say Happy Birthday to my very dear one! I am so thrilled that I finally able to say it with a smile. :) Never imagined that this time would have come. It’s a sunny day out there and I’m feeling GREAT! :D I’ll pray that I shall and WILL have this opportunity to say this till eternity. HE is the Boss, afterall. (The one up there if you still can’t figure it out.)

If you have been wondering about what I have been up to, I assure you there is not much going on apart from busy stuffing my belly with the CNY dinner, lunches, and more delicious and hard-to-get-in-this-cold-country meals (Errr.. doubting whether to share that little detail). It’s not just the belly, but there are parts that, according to my resources (in which I am not allowed to mention their names ;) ) have grown bigger through my pictures. I did believe them when I weighed myself with several extra kilos. GAIN! Not loss! Thank you (for finally believing me).

I got so many pictures in my machine which I am not even sure when I can edit them to get those fat or double chin gone, or crooked nose straightened. Not mine I assure you. I got this request quite often: please do the touch up before you upload them. Right! Like I’m the expert in this matter. (I wonder if this is now the English English or the Kanglish. Just ignore that part if you don’t understand, would you?)

Let see what I can do here.. Yep! Uploading the pictures! See which ones would be the lucky winners!

Here they are ! I found several that I don’t have to do any editing. The rest are either too huge to publish here or still inside the other camera.

These photos are taken during the CNY luncheon in The Hague for the Malaysian community in the NL.

I just love to see this lamp.

Guilty as charged! (Evil smile..) Yep! It´s mine and only the first round.

The food! And of course our sweet and charming Dato´ Ambassador.

Ahhhh! The kids got their Ang Pao (Red Packet) from the President of MA-NL. I did try to get one too but they saw my the-few-lines near my eyes. Argghhhh! I want ang pao tooooo… :P

I love this photo with my sweet Até Elizabeth and Dato´Ambassador.

OK! Hope that´s enough for now. Concerning to the other photos, I am afraid I normally only remember to fill my sweet belly first and then yes.. eat again for the second, third and so forth round.

Have fun! Cheers. :)

Happy Harvest Festival To All Sabahans

“Kotobian tadau tagazo do Kaamatan kumaa saavi-avi paganakan om tambahut ku doid nombo kou nopo doiti id pomogunan diti.” (A wish in Kadazan language.)

Happy Harvest Festival to all my family and friends whereever you are in this world.

Below are some of the youtube video clips I’ve found to share with you all, about my background as a Kadazan. May is the month for the Kadazan-Dusun-Murut of Sabah and the grand finale will be held on the 30th and 31st of May in Sabah, Malaysia which we can see our new “Unduk Ngadau” (Harvest Queen).

Enjoy the video clips. Thank you to all the people who have downloaded the clips so we, from far away, can enjoy the feast back home. “Jauh di mata, dekat di hati.” Far from the eyes, near at heart.

I have chosen the clips below because they bring back the memories when I was still back home.

The first clips are with the sompoton. Sompoton is a traditional musical instrument from Sabah along with Gong and Kulintangan which is a trademark for Sabahan people and culture. Let’s dance the SUMAZAU.

To Cousin Rubyrosa

My little (now big) cousin is getting married. I feel so bad that I will not be at her wedding on 1 June 2009. I might not be there but my heart will. This page is dedicated to my beautiful cousin Rubyrosa Stephenie.

“The Wedding” by Jody Wayne. (Youtube video clip – by bethulie13. Thank you.)

Rubyrosa

To my sweet cousin,

We were at Mile 6, Putatan on the day and night before your mummy and daddy were to be wedded. I remember sleeping in the same room with your mummy and we had a little chat.

The next day, our other (now in heaven) cousin and I were dressed up as the flower girls. We were so cute and sweet together. I was still a very little girl but I remember it well.

When your mummy went towards the altar for your daddy, I found that your mummy was the most beautiful woman in the church on that day. I was fond of her and I still am.

After your brother was born, you came along. It was a joyous day for the family to have yet another daughter/niece/granddaughter/cousin with us. We were overjoyed.

A clever girl at school, and later graduated from college. You then dedicate your service to the hospital.

Now my dear cousin, you have found someone that you love dearly and passionately and are ready to be tied in matrimony.

I am so happy for you and I wish you both joy and lots of love, peace and happiness in your marriage.

May the love you plant together will be fruitful and multiplied and to share all moments among the people you love.

With lots of love,
Your big sister

A Trip To Zaandam

9 May 2009

The day seemed to be warm out there. But it was chilly. No matter. We stepped into the car and drove away from the house, out of the area, the city and up to Amersfort. It’s a nice city to look at but we didn’t stop. Then we found the shop. Stopped and went inside. Found the big guy in blue. Wow! It’s huge and looked ugly. I said. Not this dark blue please.  Wil said, no, not this one. The other one is better. I guess he was going to consider the other BIG GUY.

We left and dropped by a smaller town/village called Hoogland. I found a beautiful furniture and decor shop. We went inside and browsed through the whole shop till we forgot that it was already late.

We bought a few gifts and left the place.

Now, driving back to Amsterdam for another hour. We reached our friend’s house in Zaandam around 5.00 pm. It was their son’s birthday and their little apartment was full with their family and relatives. Wil joined some men outside and I joined Denna in the kitchen.

They cooked delicious Indonesian food. I ate as if it’s nobody’s business. There were cakes and also dessert to fill the belly of all the people there.

It was a fun day especially to be able to speak my own lingo from my own hometown. Thanks for the hospitality D & D.

Pictures below taken at the balcony with only several people and of course D & D themselves.
