Daylight Saving Time in Holland
It’s almost midnight here in the Netherlands. Another couple of hours and we are back to the ‘summer time’. This means we all will experience a lack of an hour sleep. I am glad it happens in the weekend as I need to adjust my mood before going back to work on Monday. Being at work at 9 in the morning is just nice but spending another hour in the evening because the real time of arrival was 10am might be an issue. It’s not that I leave my work on time every day but I might have an appointment on Monday evening with a certain financial institution to talk about the cheapest interest rate they are offering. Luckily there is no such thing in my schedule.
The change of time will also mean that I am closer to home and at the same time, I am older an hour compare to the winter time.
So, to the new time. Welcome summer time and enjoy the spring season, soon to be summer.
Happy 9 March 2010
Hey my visitor,
It’s March! I know. And I’ve been late again. Not that I didn’t want to come and update the blog but I lost my password. Apparently I changed it sometime during the winter time when I was (and still am) half awake. (Yep! Blame the weather!)
So, I must have put my mind somewhere when I can’t find the simple yet difficult to remember text or was it number? I guess I’ve been changing it several times now. Yes, Just to change and then forget about the initial plan of logging in to blog. So, the next time would be WRONG AGAIN! And again, of course.
Anyway, here I come to say Happy Birthday to my very dear one! I am so thrilled that I finally able to say it with a smile.
Never imagined that this time would have come. It’s a sunny day out there and I’m feeling GREAT!
I’ll pray that I shall and WILL have this opportunity to say this till eternity. HE is the Boss, afterall. (The one up there if you still can’t figure it out.)
If you have been wondering about what I have been up to, I assure you there is not much going on apart from busy stuffing my belly with the CNY dinner, lunches, and more delicious and hard-to-get-in-this-cold-country meals (Errr.. doubting whether to share that little detail). It’s not just the belly, but there are parts that, according to my resources (in which I am not allowed to mention their names
) have grown bigger through my pictures. I did believe them when I weighed myself with several extra kilos. GAIN! Not loss! Thank you (for finally believing me).
I got so many pictures in my machine which I am not even sure when I can edit them to get those fat or double chin gone, or crooked nose straightened. Not mine I assure you. I got this request quite often: please do the touch up before you upload them. Right! Like I’m the expert in this matter. (I wonder if this is now the English English or the Kanglish. Just ignore that part if you don’t understand, would you?)
Let see what I can do here.. Yep! Uploading the pictures! See which ones would be the lucky winners!
Here they are ! I found several that I don’t have to do any editing. The rest are either too huge to publish here or still inside the other camera.
These photos are taken during the CNY luncheon in The Hague for the Malaysian community in the NL.

I just love to see this lamp.

Guilty as charged! (Evil smile..) Yep! It´s mine and only the first round.

The food! And of course our sweet and charming Dato´ Ambassador.
Ahhhh! The kids got their Ang Pao (Red Packet) from the President of MA-NL. I did try to get one too but they saw my the-few-lines near my eyes. Argghhhh! I want ang pao tooooo…

I love this photo with my sweet Até Elizabeth and Dato´Ambassador.
OK! Hope that´s enough for now. Concerning to the other photos, I am afraid I normally only remember to fill my sweet belly first and then yes.. eat again for the second, third and so forth round.
Have fun! Cheers.

Wish I Was Home Today
Saturday: 23 May 2009
*Sob*Sob* I wish I was home today.
Today was Sis Myra and Marcel’s wedding reception in Ranau, Sabah. This reception is held in mami’s hometown for other family members to celebrate as well. Myrna, Stije and Little Zumi left first to Hong Kong and followed by Myra and Marcel. A week later, mami, Dan, Oma and her partner flew over to Malaysia.

We have friends from the States and from Australia coming home as well which makes their home-coming rather special.
Mami was sad that I couldn’t make it to this wedding reception. She was hoping I would surprise them (especially her) as I did many times before. In fact, I did plan about it. My last minute trip home. I was about to book the ticket but due to certain circumstances, I couldn’t make it. Too bad, I was already having fun daydreaming of how I was going to surprise them in Sabah. To them, to my family and to all friends. Alas…

Sad.. sad.. sad.. I wish I was on a jet plane a few days ago already and having fun with my family and friends back home at the moment.

A Trip To Zaandam
9 May 2009
The day seemed to be warm out there. But it was chilly. No matter. We stepped into the car and drove away from the house, out of the area, the city and up to Amersfort. It’s a nice city to look at but we didn’t stop. Then we found the shop. Stopped and went inside. Found the big guy in blue. Wow! It’s huge and looked ugly. I said. Not this dark blue please. Wil said, no, not this one. The other one is better. I guess he was going to consider the other BIG GUY.
We left and dropped by a smaller town/village called Hoogland. I found a beautiful furniture and decor shop. We went inside and browsed through the whole shop till we forgot that it was already late.
We bought a few gifts and left the place.
Now, driving back to Amsterdam for another hour. We reached our friend’s house in Zaandam around 5.00 pm. It was their son’s birthday and their little apartment was full with their family and relatives. Wil joined some men outside and I joined Denna in the kitchen.
They cooked delicious Indonesian food. I ate as if it’s nobody’s business. There were cakes and also dessert to fill the belly of all the people there.
It was a fun day especially to be able to speak my own lingo from my own hometown. Thanks for the hospitality D & D.
Pictures below taken at the balcony with only several people and of course D & D themselves.

Dinner and Karaoke
18 April 2009, Dinner and Karaoke at the Poldervaart

Singing MY WAY by Frank Sinatra to conclude the evening.

Yours truly was the paparazzi of the evening/night.
Mirjam, Liang and I are the 3 buddies who love having ladies night (only for ourselves) together. (In Dutch, J should be pronounced as Y)
Although Wil just came back last night, our appointment must go on. So I prepared dinner: fried rice, fried noodles, chicken curry, chicken with 2 types of Chinese mushroom in soya sauce, vegetables and Indian bread called roti prata. I did serve my hot chillie pepper taken all the way from Sabah and I couldn’t believe my eyes that Jaap finished them all. He is Dutch! (Dutch don’t take hot chillie pepper.. lol)
(Els and Cor are Mirjam’s parents while Jaap is Els’ little brother. Liang is a beautiful girl from China who is an expat in this country.)
I fell in love with Mirjam’s family when Liang and I were invited to have dinner at her parent’s home before going to her house to stay overnight. They were such a warm and funny people so I invited them to come to our place for a fun night.
After dinner, we looked at the photos taken in Malaysia. Whoa.. Whuu.. Awesome
Then it’s time to have some fun. Karaoke was on, 2 microphones and beers on the table. We sang, we laughed, we took photos, we made jokes.. lots of fun. I loved it and they all did too.

The 3 buddies, just got gifts from Els.
Two lovely buddies (still available). LOL.. I love you both, girls.
3 Sabahans

My Friday with Sam (blue shirt) and Diana (white shirt). I prepared home style food specially for Diana as she hasn’t been eating the food for a while. So, I went to some Asian shops in Rotterdam and near my house to get those stuff. It was great eating lunch with fellow Sabahans.
Diana’s hubby was our cameraman on that day.
DH is in UK, coming home this evening.
Oopppss! You don’t know.. He is on his way home from his holiday to Malaysia. He won lottery from his other half: a one return-ticket alone without tagging along his little wife.
Naa…. It’s my obligations at work and at my study, so I skipped this time.
Happy birthday

My birthday with my very very very sweet girlfriend Elaine was very special. She picked me up on this beautiful Easter Sunday to celebrate the day. So we went to Keukenhoff, Lisse to have some fun with the beautiful tulips, hyacinth all some other kind of flowers.
Then we went to Kijkduin beach in The Hague. Had a walk and had dinner there: spare ribs for Elaine and lamb chop for me (plus some spare ribs Elaine put on my plate… lol).
This was really a sweet gift from my dear Elaine. She said, “That’s what friends are for.” Thank you my dear friend.
(Just so you know, I didn’t intend to celebrate my birthday this year. But if any of you still have gifts to give me, you are welcome to do so.. Uwahahaha…)
