DST Spring 2009

Happy SpringGood morning world,

Today is the second week of Spring and we’re back to Summer Time. Daylight Saving Time changed the hour last night at 2.00am West-Europe Time. Fortunately it is Sunday today and an hour lack of sleep can be no harm.

The world seemed to be sunny this morning but around 11am, the sun was very shy to come out and play. I am not sure what the reason behind is. Perhaps another gray mood of him.

As it is Sunday, no shops are open in this area unless if we were to travel to other big cities such as Rotterdam and Amsterdam. So, perhaps the best thing to do right now is to leave this machine and go have some things done. Laundry, ironing, do a bit of spring cleaning, gardening, burn CDs, reading the textbooks, or watching TV.

I wonder….

Hey! The sun is back. I am off now and wish you a wonderful Sunday.

Road to No Where

This is getting no where. I should be doing my homework, instead I am surfing online.

5 main reasons of failing my papers/exams this June:

  1. Watching too much tele
  2. Reading too much nonsence
  3. Chit-chatting online
  4. Too much sleeping
  5. Non-stop partying

So, if you see me here, meaning I go online too much. If not, I am on my couch……… (you fill in the blank)…….

Not My Morning

Have you noticed when you get up in the morning, you feel sick or miserable and all you want to do is to kick someone’s bottom?

Not being a morning person is what we are when we don’t have enough sleep, rest, awoken by a bad dream or work like there’s no tomorrow.

I experienced that this morning as I had only four hours sleep and was lacking of another 4 hours. At home with DH who was preparing for my breakfast (as he was having a day off), the sweetness was still there. On the way to work, I wasted the time by not reading anything as I used to as I was too tired. Reaching the office, just a good morning greeting to some colleagues. While trying to figure out what I have left the night before to continue today, my telephone rang.

It was the auditor again. I got so frustrated about the whole thing, that they have been late for my reporting, although I have planned carefully and did my work earlier in advance so I could work on other deadlines. Unfortunately because of them, I have to work 10 to 12 hours per day to meet the overlapping deadlines these few weeks. (No Financial Analyst in the office works more than 9 hours a day. That’s another story.)

Worse comes to worst, this so-called senior associate auditor was delaying the process by not understanding the simple methodology. How stupid can one be?

Nevertheless, that’s just from my head. I didn’t think it out loud, which was a relief. I did, however, tell him how frustrated I was with the delay. Next week is the Management Committee Meeting and the final draft has yet to be ready. If only the economic situation was not that bad….

My after-thought: I should have avoid a conversation with him in that early morning but to call back later. It was just not my morning.

A Note From David

I checked one of my email boxes today and found this lovely note from my Wong Loong relative whom I believe in the rank of Uncle as I called his late father, my greatuncle, Aki.

This is one of the nicest things I have received ever since I started putting up the Wong Loong family tree online in October 2003 and have yet to change the layout nor update the family tree for years. For that, I feel bad as I owe the late Aki Joe for his generosity to let me published his hard work online 6 years ago.

Thanks Mr David Manjaji for this note. I am so blessed.

Hi Jenn
Just to say hi and thank you for your kind words about my dad on the Wong Loong website! I went home at his bidding and was there a week before he passed on. I was happy to have said my good bye. In the meantime the clan continues to grow and as far as I know our cousins Rosmary Chin Garces and Victor Chin are now proud grandparents (young ones too!)
All the best and keep the family tree going for our posterity!
Regards
David

Happy birthday Sis Jose

14 March 2009

My dearest beloved sister-and-bestfriend Josephine,

All these years, I am so grateful to have you as my younger sister and also a friend. You are always there for me during my happy and sad times. For that, I thank you so much, my dearest sister. We love you and your boys and of course our funny BIL.

Your gift is here with me. Your brother will bring it to you next month. I won’t tell you yet what you get but a clue, it’s a brand new 12 mpxl, and a good one. Not the old one, my dear. :P

And have a glorious day every day.

Lots of love from your sis and bro.

The 3 Friends: JLM

Dinner at M's parents' houseJLM stands for Jenn, Liang and Mariam. We are the 3 new friends we met in a party in Rotterdam in November 2008. Liang is from Cheng Dao, China and Mariam is Dutch from the Netherlands.

M's dadOn a Friday in December 2008, Liang and I were to spend the night at Mariam’s place. Before going to her place, we were invited to have dinner at her parents’ house. Her single uncle was also joining us.

YummyBoth Mariam’s parents and uncle are wonderful people. We laughed so much during the dinner and carried on at the living room. All of us did enjoy the evening. Lucky for me that I bought 2 little gifts and a plant earlier on which I gave them to Mariam and her mother.

Then the 3 of us left the house and drove away to Mariam’s place which was a few minutes away. She has such a lovely place but unfortunately I did not manage to take photos as we were getting to know each other and talked about our life until we forgot that it was already late for bed.

She's a beautiful dog.

The next morning, both Liang and me woke up very late. So, I did not manage to take photos that morning. DH, who also has a men’s night with his friends the night before, came to fetch me and Liang home.

L and M sing a songIn January, DH has another night out with his friends, so the 3 of us had a night at my place. We had dinner and then had lots of fun singing Karaoke. It has been a lovely evening with these 2 lovely ladies.

I’m so thankful to DH for all these arrangements. :)
