Phone interview
I just a phone interview with a director of a French company from Paris. This is for the position Head of Finance in the Netherlands. The interview was promising. He seemed to like my profile and wanted to give me this job without even seeing me. He thought that I would be the best for the position compare to the other candidates. Although they are qualified accountants, they don’t have such an experience I have, according to him. I was really awed to hear all what the company could offer me. The salary he proposed was great but when I was doubting, he said, tell me what you want. Isn’t it great? It’s not only that, I could do more work and experience more than I can with other company. If I performed well, he would give me the position of CFO.
We had a nice talk, it’s like a normal conversation instead of an interview. He even gave me all his contact details so that I can contact him directly instead of going through the agency who is in charge.
It was indeed a great position but I have to think about it since I also have other great opportunities with a few companies at the moment.
Now, I have to get back to sleep, I had enough for half a day doing official stuff at home.
Second operation this year
To my family and friends:
My second operation this year on last Friday, 22nd Feb, went well. This time it is much more painful than before and on the day of the operation, I had flu and luckily the fever was over on the morning. But still, I was given some pills from the nurse before the operation. Since I had blocked nose, was coughing and was not really that well. Thank God they didn’t reschedule the operation.
After that, I was given morphine to ease the pain and it was good because I could sleep the whole time. Since it was a last minute decision with my doctor, dear hubby couldn’t take off from his work, so our friend, Michel took me home from the hospital. Thank God for that because I don’t like staying in the hospital, I prefer my own bed.
Review at the hospital
This was my second review at the hospital after the operation. Now, there is another thing came in mind. I would have to do the other operation. The doctor suggested in early March but I prefered in February. So, we decided to have it on the 22nd Feb, next week Friday.
I guess I am getting used to the hospital and being to stay in bed now.
I know everything will be fine but I cannot avoid the stress that attack me sometimes. 
Last day at Rbk Adi
Today is my last day at Rbk Adi, then I will have my holidays from this year and the ones carried over from last year. I will get paid until the end of this month for sure plus the bonus I hope. Well! I need this bonus, to pay for my expenses from last year and to pay my overdraft. I wonder how much I will get in total because I still have to pay almost 50% of my income to the tax authority.
My manager, my colleagues and I are going to Japanese restaurant this afternoon. JM’s last day will be on this coming Friday, the 15th; DH’s last day will be on the 19th and then our manager PV’s last day will be on the 20th. Fran is the only colleague left who is now working in Amsterdam office.
Then around 1pm, Wim will go to the van-rental company to rent a van and will come with Michel to my office to take all the furnitures I bought from the company. I didn’t know they were so heavy: 2 big desks, 4 chairs, one small cabinet, my fortune plant and some other stuff for my ‘office’.
I have to go now, to hand over my last piece of work to the country and to my other direct boss, the Finance Project Director. I wish them all all the best and of course to myself as well, because after this, I am jobless.
Happy Chinese New Year
It’s Chinese New Year and I have been to Zoetemoeer today for an interview. Nice position but not the situation and the company. I like big company and this is a very small one. It’s good also because by using public transport, I will need at least 2 hours to reach the office or to reach my home. Oh well, I will have to look further. I know now I don’t want to work there.
To all my fellow Chinese family and friends, wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. This year will be my year, the Rats are playing around…
