Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Pa, my dearest father in law.

Happy birthday Mama Irene, my dearest friend and mama of Glocestershire.

And guess what, the fine finally reached its next number, i.e. our house, for driving too fast. They are charging you for driving 5 kms over the limit. Congratulations! Honey. lol

I Need A Hammer

Although they have invented anti-stress, anti-pain, for your head… There was no way I could get out from the headache. I just hoped the migraine was not coming back attacking me. But I felt that I needed a hammer.

My manager has sent out a memo (email) to all the people we are dealing with in my new assigned countries about my new assignment. I kind of thrilled to read her message, very confident. I just hope the pharmacies have enough supplies for my aching head.

Dreaming Again

For the hundredth time now, I was late to work. Can’t remember either it was the books fault, or my brother A who was in my dreamland. Thanks bro for waking me up though… You’ve been very good to get me late to work. Gheez… I miss you all guys…

Have a great day!

The Good News

Guess after all the happiness and celebration, I am now having a terrible headache instead of feeling really great. Oh yes! I do feel wonderful though. After my individual meeting with the management, I had to push them to prepare and finalise the letter of offer for me. They had to otherwise they would lose another ‘valuable member’ in the organisation soon.

So, on Thursday evening, I waited till about 5.00pm to talk to our Human Resource Manager. Poor him that he still had a lot to do for other people but I reminded him that he promised me to finalise their decision the day after our meeting, i.e. on last Wednesday. He had no choice but to prepare it that second and finalise it with the-She-Big-Boss.

Right before 6.00pm, I had the letter of offer handed in person by the HR Manager himself. I might jump higher like a silly little kid if I did not think of my reputation. Hahaha… We are not in the kindergarden here so all I said was, “It is not really the figure I asked for, it’s a bit lesser. But I appreciate your decision.”

I did not tell him directly on that day of what I thought of the letter of offer. I asked him if I could get back to him the next day. Once he left, I called Wim up and told him what I just experienced at work. He was so happy for me and said, “But honey, now you have to pay even more income tax to the government.” Perhaps what I will earn in my payslip will be lesser because of the dang high tax. I am already paying 40% (and more) income tax of my monthly income to the government. Dang the leeches!

Anyway, on Friday morning, I handed in my letter to the HR manager. He thought I was tendering my notice of termination because it is not normal to give a letter when one agrees of something. But I just liked to do it formally and official. His joyous face upon reading the letter was of a billion euros. He was a happy man.

Now they have given what I want, they surely will have all the jobs done without failure. That was the deal. And I am going to need to chill out more often I guess.

What A Night

I’m home. Safe and sound. The parties were great, both at the Break and at the Baja Club.

It was Allaistair’s, the English bartender, last day working there after 9 years of servicing people. Some people from the pool room upstairs mess up the bar by throwing 2 jugs of beer on Allaistair who was busy working and the messy part was the bar was wet. Glad we were not although we sat at the bar talking. At 12.00 midnight, Allaistair got his surprise. A big ugly mama with her big and hanging b**bs and fat everywhere was stripping. Everyone was having fun, cheering, and laughing at the show. It was really a terrible sight but FUN. Since I had to take care of our seats, I let the guys go to the dance floor for the show.

At the Baja Beach Club, there was not so much fun going on except that we had a nice time dancing. The cons about this club are that they like to change the music every few seconds and it is too crowded. I know Solainge and the other ladies are having fun at the other discotheque in the city where I live.

Tonight, Saturday Night

Boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen….

Tonight our meeting point is at the Break 22:00 – 22:30.

We shall then move to Baja Beach Club for a swing.
Bring boys and girls, otherwise yourself.

Brought to you by the Rose among the Thorns.

Another Friday Night

After the sushi, I guess it’s time to go back to the guys at the Breakawayto chill out a bit. Almost everyone was there plus a new face, who apparently from our MIS department but almost never in town. Quite calm guy. Like me, he likes to observe people too and he is 2 years my senior. After getting his surname, Corne (a Dutch guy) said that Marco was lying about his surname, since it’s his (C’s). I really thought M lied so he bet me on a glass of whiskey. He showed me his passport and there I went… shoot!… I lost a bet.

So, I went to Salvo, the barman, for a glass of Jack Daniels on the rocks for Marco.

These guys are really sucking my purse… I’ll get them soon, especially the bad C.

Then Yuli, my girlfriend, came and here the guys were getting annimated since it’s their hobby at this place. To talk or flirt with girls. Too bad Chris the macho guy came a short while later for Yuli and us. haha… They had to look for other victims and it turned out to be the 2 Australian girls. One studying for Sosiology and the other one Psychology. So, watch out boys. Be good! They are on holidays to Europe or perhaps making assignment here, by observing people’s behaviour. Who knows.

My Mogitos were killing me. I had so much wine and cocktails the night before at the Cinema with Yuli, Anna, Andrea (my Italian cute male friend) and some other men in suits, CPAs etc. And it gave me a terrible hangover the next day. I still managed to go to work though.

Sushi at Shabu Shabu Restaurant

I love Sushi, Sashimi and all those tiny thingy on the plat. The best part is the wasabe (the green hot Japanese mustard). Once you have it in your mouth, you either would cry of happiness or of the strange taste if you have never tasted it.

There are so many good Japanese restaurants you can find in Rotterdam. The nearest ones from my work are the Happy Sushi and also Yamato.

My Romanian girlfriend, G, loves Sushi too. So, we made a reservation for two at the new Japanese restaurant called Shabu ShabuShabu. Eat all you can with a fixed price.

We went there yesterday and found out that the place is quite nice. You can choose your seat, low, medium high, or high seats. G liked to go for the normal seat. So, it was our first time visit, the waitress was explaining all about what we should know. There was a list and a pen on the table. The menu, numbers, and we could actually order till the 8th round. Well! In 2 hours time and with small tummy like ours, I did not think so.

So, G and I ordered 5 orders per person in the first round, all sushi, along with drinks. All cleaned up, we ordered the second round. Lesser now, not 5 but 4 orders per person, mostly from the grill. Another litter of drinks. All cleaned up… We went for the third round, 3 orders per for G and 4 for me. Gheezzzz… Here both G and I had to excuse ourselves to the ladies room. Too much consumption of liquid and needed a bit of movement, I guess. All done, we asked for the bill.

Waitress: “Any dessert?”

I had to hide my laughter when I saw G’s face. LOL

All in all, it was quite nice food, good service, and cheap even with the weekend price. We ended up paying EUR35.00 per person including tips.
