Happy birthday Owen
Yeayyyy… my little darling is 3 years old today. Managed to speak to him the second time I called up home. Mom led him, and he was telling me that he had got a cake. Papa and mama got me a cake, he said.
What a joy to hear them all but I really miss my Owen.

To The Book Fair
Woke up pretty late today, 11.00am. My whole body was aching but the party went pretty well. That matters.
There were quite a lot of food and friends who managed to turn up. I am glad the surprise party was a good shot.
Since today was the last day of the bookfair at the Ahoy Rotterdam, I had to go and look for some new books. I ended up buying 60 books in total with only EUR160.00. That was a good purchase since no way you could pay such a sum with 60 books in the normal shop. Of course, the books are new and cost me from EUR0.90 to EUR7.00 per book. And most of my picks are from EUR 2.90 to EUR 3.90.
I hope I have enough cash in the bank before the next pay.
Surprise birthday party
I did it. Two weeks in advance of planning and most of the invitees turned up, others not due to high fever, out of country or even last minute arrangements elsewhere.
We had a great time surprising the birthday boy. Most of our friends are male and just imagine when they say, “Surprise” and then they sang the Dutch version birthday song… hahahahaha. It was fun.
I did the cooking, I did the shopping, I did the cleaning, I did the entertaining etc etc… I did it all on my own. Sam, my Paparian girlfriend, came to help me with the deep-fry. And glad she helped.
Thanks to all friends who came to help me surprising Wim. Love you all.

Life is indeed full of surprises. You would not know when you would meet someone and the person would become your friend.
It’s amazing when after 5 years of knowing each other but never actually become acquainted in a serious way, you suddenly become the best of friends ever.
It was as if you were in a dreamland of some sort. You were there and suddenly you were not. Pinch yourself and you feel the pain. That sort of thing.
There was no regrets, there was no back. We are going to move forward not backward. I am just so glad that this friend is leaving to pursue his BIG career. Sure I am sad in a way. Well! Actually, BIG TIME.
I wish him all the best in his future undertakings and God Bless him.
